Intellectual Honesty or Islamophobia?

Islamophobia: this term has been cropping up a lot recently, particularly in the wake of Murtaza Hussain’s article in which he labelled prominent atheist Sam Harris an Islamophobe (which I discuss here). While the dust seems to have settled after that particular spat, we are left with a serious question: is focusing on Islam above and beyond the other major faiths of the world intellectually dishonest and does that focus stem from other, more unsavory traits like racism?

Arguing Fairly: Sam Harris, Murtaza Hussain & Twitter Fights

It amazes me just how much crap can be thrown between people in small intervals of time. The recent flap focusing on the words and works of Sam Harris, sparked by this article written by Murtaza Hussain, has lined up commentators on both sides who ready to launch the next volley of excrement at their intellectual opponents ... I believe this charge is relevant to the interests of all atheists and secularists and, as such, the lessons we can learn from this incident are important.
